St. Clair County Foley Park Secure Gate & Access Control System

Belleville Fence Co. completed a commercial access control and perimeter security installation at St. Clair County Foley Park, located off Douglas Road just south of Belleville in Smithton Township.

Spanning over 80 acres of green space, fishing lakes, baseball facilities, and pavilions, Foley Park requires controlled access to enforce municipal park operating hours and safeguard public assets. Belleville Fence Co. was selected to fabricate and install a durable entrance barrier system tailored for high-traffic public sites.

Project Overview & Technical Specifications

To manage vehicular entry smoothly while maintaining high security during off-hours, our team installed a heavy-duty commercial slide gate combined with automated gate operation and card/keypad access technology.

• Location: Foley Park (St. Clair County Parks Department), Smithton / Belleville, IL

• Primary Gate System: Heavy-duty black vinyl-coated chain-link cantilever slide gate mounted on heavy industrial support posts

• Perimeter Integration: Seamlessly integrated alongside existing white vinyl 2-rail ranch style perimeter fencing to preserve park aesthetics while upgrading entry security

• Automation & Operator: Commercial-grade sliding gate operator enclosed in a weatherproof housing with heavy-duty drive chain system

• Access Control: High-visibility pedestal-mounted keypad/card reader enclosure set in a poured concrete foundation, protected by safety bollards

• Safety & Security: Overhead pole-mounted surveillance cameras monitoring the gate zone, red/yellow reflectors on gate frames for night visibility, and safety loop detection systems

Key Project Highlights

• Automated Schedule Management: The automated slide gate system allows county park staff to manage entry access according to seasonal operating hours without requiring manual locking at the entrance.

• Durable Powder-Coated Finish: The black vinyl chain-link fabric and powder-coated steel posts resist severe Midwestern weather, rust, and heavy wear.

• Enhanced Access Control Infrastructure: Integrated keypads and card readers housed on heavy-duty gooseneck pedestals give authorized park personnel quick access while keeping unauthorized vehicles out after dusk.
