Owned and maintained by St. Clair County, this nature preserve features paved walking trails, wetlands, and bottomland forests along the Silver Creek floodplain. Because the preserve operates on a sunrise-to-sunset schedule, county officials required an automated perimeter entry system to secure the site during off-hours, protect public infrastructure, and manage visitor vehicle access without requiring manual opening and closing by staff.

To handle daily traffic while standing up to high-moisture floodplain conditions, our commercial installation team engineered and installed a heavy-duty cantilever slide gate system equipped with automated gate electronics and physical safety controls.

• Gate System: Commercial black vinyl-coated chain link cantilever slide gate built with heavy internal bracing and high-capacity roller assemblies for smooth track operation

• Gate Operator: Heavy-duty DoorKing (DKS) commercial slide gate operator housed in a weatherproof enclosure, integrated with a industrial drive chain assembly

• Access Control Hardware: Standalone pedestal-mounted Linear digital access keypad set in concrete at vehicle height, paired with an secondary gooseneck pedestal housing for dual-side or multi-device integration

• Safety & Security Infrastructure: High-visibility safety yellow bollards set on concrete foundations to guard operator and keypad stands from vehicle strikes, high-impact photo-eye safety sensors, safety loop detection, and prominent safety warning signage

• Perimeter Integration: Main gate ties directly into black powder-coated terminal posts and matching vinyl-coated perimeter fencing flanked by heavy decorative boulders
